Johns Opticians are a well established chain of opticians with retail shops throughout the Nottingham area. Our policy is to provide old fashioned courtesy and service combined with the latest in modern technology. At each shop you can expect to receive a complete range of quality services, geared to meet every facet of your eye care requirements at very competitive prices.

Johns Opticians roots began way back in 1942 when Ronald Fielding-Hill, a truly eccentric gentleman, decamped from a bomb ravaged London and set up a practice in Hockley, Nottingham. David Johns joined in 1946 as an apprentice frame maker (all were hand made frames and lenses) and later qualified as a Dispensing Optician. David eventually bought the business from Mr Fielding-Hill, who stayed on as the Ophthalmic Optician until May 1978.

David's son Philip, joined after graduating from Bradford University and attaining a Fellowship from the British College of Opticians. He set about modernising and expanding the business, opening the West Bridgford practice in 1984.

David Johns retired in 1991 but still keeps his watchful eye on proceedings.

Johns Opticians has continued growing for over half a century, and still enjoys providing a caring service at economical prices.

Encouraged by the upturn in the demand for high quality eye care, Philip Johns looked to expand further, opening our fourth practice in May 2001 in the busy market town of Bingham which was considered a perfect match for our skills. We recognise that in an ever increasing world of automation and gimmicks our patients consider the assured professional and personal help that Johns Opticians provide, to be the best.
